A group of nursing students are on a mission to make their city aware and supportive during lung cancer awareness month in November. They are hosting a variety of events to educate the community and raise funds for Lung Cancer Canada, an organization dedicated to raising awareness, providing patient and family support and education. These events include the hanging of lung cancer awareness ribbons on trees in the downtown strip, a chuck-a-puck for lung cancer at the local arena, educational booths at the mall and a bowl for the cure- strike down lung cancer event. The group will be selling silicone and beaded awareness bracelets as well as the classic apple blossom pins from Lung Cancer Canada.

"We’re doing this because we want to show support, love and recognition to our fellow Canadian lung cancer survivors, warriors, angels and their families” says Ashlee Sheaves, group leader. So if you live in the Sault or surrounding area, get out to one of their events in November and bring your friends!
