Overview
A lung cancer diagnosis and the treatments that follow can deeply impact the emotional, social, psychological, spiritual, and practical health and well-being of an individual and their family.  Although it may feel like it at times, you do not have to carry this burden alone.

New!
Online Patient Support Group
The Airways of Hope Online Patient Support Group is an opportunity for lung cancer patients to connect, share personal stories, express feelings, and discuss firsthand experiences related to lung cancer.  The group meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 1:00 pm EST, and is facilitated by a Social Worker.  Registration is open to patients only and the group is ongoing.  If you are interested in joining the group, Please complete this form or call 416-785-3439, ext 1, toll free at 888-445-4403, ext 1.

Social Worker Support
The Airways of Hope program provides one on one virtual support from a Registered Social Worker.  They can provide help with:
  • Emotional concerns, like coping with your feelings about your illness and talking with family, friends or others. They can help you learn ways to manage the stress of living with cancer and adjust to changes brought on by cancer.
  • Bereavement support.
  • Financial concerns, like finding out about financial help, drug coverage or disability pensions.
  • Practical (day-to-day) concerns, like transportation, accommodation, advance care planning, home support and linking with support services and resources in the community.
