Home / Crizotinib and ROS 1 Lung Cancer Crizotinib and ROS 1 Lung Cancer Thank you for your interest in the Lung Cancer Canada campaign for the funding of crizotinib for ROS 1 positve lung cancer. We are asking all Ontario lung cancer patients to: 1) Email their MPP and Christine Elliott and request a meeting. As a constituent, it is your right to ask for a meeting. 2) Tag them on social media We hope that we can get as many meetings with MPP’s as possible to raise this issue. We will conduct this meeting virtually - LCC can set these up and the patients will be supported at this meeting by LCC and if possible a clinician. With this noise, we are hoping to secure a meeting with Christine Elliott’s office. Crizotinib for Ros1 is vitally needed. Additionally it fits in with ON’s pandemic plan to keep patients out of hospital as it is an oral take home medication. Here is an email sample to cut and paste if you wish: Dear MPP, I am a lung cancer patient living in your riding and would like to request a meeting to discuss the funding of crizotinib for ROS 1 patients in Ontario. Some facts: Crizotinib for ROS 1 received NOC November 2017 It received a positive PCODR recommendation June 7 2019. The PCPA (pricing) negotiations are complete. Provinces across the country have started to cover it including BC, SK, QB, NL, NB. It fits in with provincial pandemic plans (including ONTARIO) to keep patients out of hospital as it is an oral take home medication. This drug is vitally needed as a treatment for ROS1 positive lung cancer patients. I have attached a letter from Lung Cancer Canada written in June 2020 to Angie Wong, which outlines the case for funding. To date, there has been no response. I look forward to hearing from your office and discussing this issue with you.
